The Torch is a machine block that ignites flammable objects on contact with its flame.
Settings[]
This block has no configurable settings.
Behaviour[]
The torch flame sets flammable blocks, structures, and entities on fire. Simple, right?
In comparison to Flamethrowers, they burn effectively forever and are significantly stronger, but have a much shorter range and cannot be turned off.
They can be extinguished by Water Cannons (and Steam Cannons!), and reignited by other burning blocks (e.g. flamethrowers).
Usage[]
Their most common use is in heating water cannons so they produce steam, particularly in vanilla builds - they are particularly suited to this thanks to not having a time limit. However, they can be extinguished by steam plumes, so care must be taken not to fly backwards.
They can also be used for setting fire to things for destructive purposes, but this is a job better done by the flamethrower.
