Double jointing is a glitch and advanced building technique the combination of using Half-Placement and steering hinges (or hinges) to connect two steering hinges together in a much more compacted area. This may result in the connection being stronger as well.
The main use of double jointing are:
- shortening the distance of a hinge chain
- give more control in a shorter distance
- possibly be less prone to breaking
- more "rounded" bending
Double hinging adds more steering hinges per space combined with tweaking the rotation speed for steering hinges allows the builder more control and flexibility than the traditional setup of hinge to hinge placement.
